TalkJS recently introduced a new set of chat UI components, built for projects that need advanced customization and full control over chat design and behavior.
To keep things clear for everyone, the React and JavaScript SDKs you already use, which run chat UI components inside an iframe, are now called 'Classic SDKs'. They’re the same reliable SDKs as always, just with a new name. Nothing needs to change in your setup, as your Classic SDK will continue to run smoothly, ready for the long run.
What this means for you
If you’re using React (Classic SDK) or JavaScript (Classic SDK), nothing changes. Your chat integration remains fully supported, and you don’t need to migrate or update any code. Everything will continue to run exactly as before.

Why the change
The updated naming helps distinguish the new, highly customizable components from the long-standing SDKs that developers worldwide already rely on. It also makes it easier for new projects to pick the right starting point, while giving existing customers a clear, stable home for their current integrations.
Your chat system is safe, supported, and built to last. Just as it’s always been.
